The 15th Annual Meeting of Japanese Society for Neural Repair and Neurorehabilitation
Toyoko Asami M.D., D.M.Sc.
(Clinical Professor, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine,
Saga University Hospital)
I would like to say a few words on the occasion of the 4th Japan-Taiwan-Korea Neurorehabilitation Conference (4th JTK Conference) and the 15th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Neural Repair and Neurorehabilitation.
It is my great honour to host the conference on Saturday, 2nd and Sunday, 3rd March, 2024 under the theme of 'Diversity and Neurorehabilitation' at the new SAGA Arena, which opened on Saturday, 13th May, 2023
The conference is an academic association of researchers and clinicians from diverse disciplines and Neurorehabilitation. Neurorehabilitation is based on advanced rehabilitation therapies to improve the quality of life and social participation of people with disorders of the cranial nervous system. Diversity also aims to realise a rich and vibrant society by recognising the diversity of individuals and respecting each other. In other words, the conference aims to provide a forum for sharing the latest research findings and practical knowledge on neurorehabilitation from a diversity of perspectives. Furthermore, we would like to hold discussions for early social implementation so that people in need of neurorehabilitation, their families, supporters, and related parties can receive more and better information and support.
We are also looking forward to having discussions from a global perspective at the 15th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Neural Repair and Neurorehabilitation, which will be held at the same time, where many Japanese researchers and clinicians will give lectures.
We hope that this conference will not only enable you to share a great deal of knowledge, but also enrich the personal exchange between researchers from home and abroad. We hope that you will actively participate in the various events and make the conference an opportunity to meet new people in the field of neurorehabilitation.
In Saga, the host city, you will encounter historically interesting topics such as the Yoshinogari Ruins, Arita ceramics and the Seven Wise Men, including Naomasa Nabeshima. The Saga Castle Hina Festival is held every year at this time of year, and the area is filled with a colourful array of flowers, including cherry blossoms.
We would be delighted if you could visit Saga in the flower season and enjoy delicious seafood and mountain delicacies while contemplating the ancient times.
We look forward to welcoming you as we prepare to make this a beautiful conference with the splendour of spring.
