1954年京都大学医学部卒。内科学特に内分泌代謝学を専攻し、神戸大学教授、京都大学教授を経て、1989年京都大学医学部長、1991～7年京都大学総長を歴任。この間、日本内分泌学会会長、同理事長、国際内分泌学会プログラム委員長、組織委員長、会長、名誉会長などを歴任。1998～2004年　総合科学技術会議議員として国の科学技術政策の策定に関わる。2004年以降、神戸市の先端医療振興財団理事長として神戸医療産業都市の建設にあたるとともに、科学技術振興機構研究開発戦略センターの首席フェローとし「先制医療」など、医学の新しい方向について提言をとりまとめた。
現在、先端医療振興財団名誉理事長、稲盛財団会長、島津科学技術振興財団理事長、関西健康・医療創生会議議長などを務める。また日本学士院会員（同第二部長）、米国芸術科学アカデミー外国人名誉会員。

Marie-Pierre is Vice President and Head of Development Japan. In this role, she leads the Global Product Development organization responsible for drug development in Japan. She most recently served as the Medicine Team Lead for Xeljanz®, where she oversaw the global late-stage development in several indications for the rheumatology, dermatology and gastroenterology franchises. In 2012, she was appointed Head of Clinical Research in Development Japan, where she was accountable for the acquisition of marketing authorization in Japan for all development products across primary care, oncology and specialty care conditions.

During her 15-year career at Pfizer, she has held a number of leadership positions, including Medicine Team Lead for cindunistat; Clinical Development and Medical Affairs Lead for Xiapex®; and Global Clinical Lead for multiple drug development candidates in the Inflammation and Pain Therapeutic Areas.

Marie-Pierre has authored or co-authored more than 200 publications and is the recipient of numerous medical awards and fellowships. She earned her MD and DSc from the Université Claude Bernard in Lyon, France, and her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

In medical research career, Chun-Ying Wu received his M.D. degree from the National Taiwan University (NTU) in 1991, M.P.H. degree from Harvard School of Public Health in 1993, and Ph.D. degree from NTU in 2007. Prof. Wu has positions as the Joint Appointment Researcher of National Institute of Cancer Research, and also Professor of Medicine at various universities, including National Yang-Ming University (NYMU), National Chung-Hsing University, and China Medical University. Prof. Wu establishes Taiwan Microbiome Consortium and currently serves as the first President in the consortium. Prof. Wu is now the Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Digestive Medicine, editorial member of Gut, Associate Vice-Secretary General of both the Gastroenterological Society of Taiwan and the Digestive Endoscopy Society of Taiwan, the executive of the Taiwan Liver Cancer Association, and the control board of the Taiwan Evidence-based Medicine Association.

Dr. Pinchas Cohen
Dean, USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology

Dr. Cohen is the Dean of the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California and Executive Director of the Andrus Gerontology Center at USC. He graduated with highest honors from the Technion Medical School in Israel, trained at Stanford University, and held faculty positions at the University of Pennsylvania, and UCLA. He received numerous awards for his research, including an NIA “EUREKA” Award and the Transformative RO1-Grant from the Director of the National Institutes of Health, as well as the Glenn Foundation for Aging Research. He published over 300 papers and has an h-index of 78. Dr. Cohen pioneered the emerging science of mitochondrial-derived peptides. He holds several patents for these novel hormones and is a co-founder (and Director) of CohBar, a biotechnology company developing treatments for diseases of aging, that is traded at the Toronto Venture Exchange. He serves on the boards of several professional journals and societies, including the American Society of Aging, the Milken Institute Center for the Future of Aging, and was president of the Growth Hormone Research Society. Dr. Cohen is leading several new initiatives at the USC Davis School, including the development of a Center for Digital Aging, and a major focus on the creation of tools for “Personalized Aging”, an approach he has been spearheading for garnering the latest technologies such as genomics, towards individualizing healthy-aging strategies, that has been featured in the Milken Global Conference and in the Bloomberg Longevity Economy Conference. Dr. Cohen lives in Santa Monica with his wife and two teenage kids.

Prof. Anthony J Gill
University of Sydney

Anthony Gill holds a personal chair as Professor of Surgical Pathology at the University of Sydney and is a senior staff specialist in anatomical pathology at Royal North Shore Hospital. He is the current chair of the Australian Pancreatic Genome Initiative (APGI). His research efforts are centred on translating advances in knowledge gained at the basic science level into clinically useful diagnostic tests including classical morphology. His work has been central to the widespread acceptance of the new class of neoplasias now known as succinate dehydrogenase deficient (including two new entities: SDH deficient GIST and SDH deficient renal carcinoma). In addition to over 300 original research publications, he has co-authored 10 WHO blue book chapters across three volumes (urological, head and neck and endocrine) and is a member of the WHO consensus panel which met in Lyons France last year to finalize the WHO 2017 classification of endocrine neoplasia.

Dr. Stephen R Hammes
University of Rochester Medical Center

Dr. Hammes graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Cornell University in 1985. He completed his M.D. as well as his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from Duke University in 1993. Dr. Hammes then moved to the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF), where he completed an internship and residency in General Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology.

In 1999, Dr. Hammes joined the faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he was a W.W. Caruth Scholar in Biomedical Research and Co-Director of the Endocrinology Fellowship program. Dr. Hammes moved to the University of Rochester in 2009 to become the Louis S. Wolk Distinguished Professor of Medicine and the Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He is also the Associate Chair for Academic Affairs within the Department of Medicine at the University of Rochester.

Dr. Hammes has served as Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journals “Molecular Endocrinology” and “Endocrinology.” He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, and actively serves on N.I.H. and D.O.D. study sections.

Dr. Rachel Perry
Yale University School of Medicine

Dr. Rachel Perry is an Associate Research Scientist in the laboratory of Dr. Gerald Shulman at Yale University, and Co-Director of the in vivo core of the Yale Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center. Dr. Perry completed her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering at Yale University, and earned her Ph.D. in Cellular & Molecular Physiology with distinction, also from Yale. Her work in the Shulman lab has generated key insights into the role of increased lipolysis in driving insulin resistance and poorly controlled diabetes, and her CV includes first-author original research papers in Nature, Science, Cell, JCI, Nature Medicine, and others. Dr. Perry has recently been honored as a Blavatnik Foundation Regional Award recipient, among other recognitions, and holds several funded grants including the prestigious NIH K99/R00 award to study tumor metabolism. Beginning in July 2018, she will take a position as an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Physiology at Yale University.

Dr. Michael D. Culler
Former Vice President, Endocrinology Research, Ipsen Bioscience, Inc.; President, Culler Consulting LLC

Michael Culler is a co-founder of Rhythm Pharmaceuticals (Cambridge, Massachusetts) and former Vice President of Endocrinology Research for Ipsen. Dr. Culler has led discovery programs in osteoporosis, diabetes, cachexia, obesity, GI motility, and neuroendocrine diseases that have produced multiple compounds that have progressed to clinical development, as well as the key assets for both Rhythm and Radius Pharma. He is author or co-author of over 200 publications and an inventor on 22 patents.

Dr. Culler received his Ph.D. in Endocrine Physiology from Texas A&M University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuroendocrinology at Tulane University Medical School under the mentorship of Prof. Akira Arimura. During this time, he was a member of the team that discovered and characterized the peptide hormone, PACAP. Before joining industry, Dr. Culler was a staff researcher at the National Institutes of Health for 8 years, where he conducted basic research into hormone pulsatility and neuroendocrine control of reproduction.

Prof. Kun Ho Yoon M.D.

Kun Ho Yoon is Professor at Seoul St Mary’s Hospital, Catholic University Medical College, Korea. Prof Yoon graduated with his medical degree and also pursued his PhD program at the Catholic University Medical College. Prof Yoon also completed a 2-year stint as a visiting scholar with the Cell biology and islet transplantation section in Joslin Diabetes Center of Harvard Medical School, US at 1996~1998.

Prof Yoon was the recipient of the KDA Scientific Award three times. He was honoured with HKIDI’s Virtual Research Institute Award, health technology Award of ministry of health and presidential awards for innovative healthcare technology. Professor Yoon has published more than 200 articles in international peer-reviewed journals with publications in Lancet, JAMA, Cell metabolism, Diabetes Care, Diabetes, and so on.

His research has been focused on the beta-cell biology and improved diabetes patients care using the mobile and internet platform. He also led the development of treatment guideline of diabetes by KDA and he served as a vice president of KDA.

He has served as Executive Director, Bureau of HT R&D Planning and Budget Management of Korea Health Industry Development Institute(2014~2016).

Prof. Jae Hoon Chung
