Participants with children

APOTC2024 extends a warm welcome to participants with children! Children under 18 can attend the congress free of charge and accompany their parents to lectures and presentations. Childcare services are available. Prior application is required. There's no need for children to pre-register or apply in advance. However, it's important to note that children should always be under their parents' care.
Please ensure you prepare lunch for your children. Kitchen carts are available on-site for your convenience.
Companions and partners aged 18 and over, who want to attend the scientific programs, must settle the registration before the congress.

Family lounge

We provide a Family lounge for parents to dine and rest. No advance booking is necessary, so feel free to use them as needed. For hygiene purposes, please utilise the nappy changing stations located at seven different points.
Please be aware that there are no childcare staff in the Family lounge. Therefore, parents must accompany their children while using the room, and children are not permitted to be unaccompanied in the area. Please watch your children as there are steps in the rooms. Additionally, please take care of your valuables. Please note that the 8th Asia Pacific Congress of Occupational Therapy, the Association Secretariat, and the Management Office cannot be held responsible for any accidents, injuries, or theft that may occur in the lounge.

We're pleased to offer childcare services during the congress from November 6th to 8th.

Fees

This service is designed to support the professional development of overseas OTs and members, providing peace of mind while focusing on the congress.
APOTC 2024 will subsidise the fee, but the remaining balance will be the user's responsibility.

Fees are as follows

1. Half day ¥1,000 (until the end of lunch time or after lunch)
2. Full day ¥2,000

Additional Notes

• We will do our best to accommodate requests for English-speaking childcare, but please note that availability may be limited.
• The user will bear these if an English-speaking sitter is secured and incurs additional fees.
• The fee will vary depending on the number of applicants, the age of the child, and the number of days of care required.
• A separate estimate will be provided after the application is submitted.

How To Apply

1. Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
2. Complete the Application Form.
3. Email the completed Application Form to the secretariat (reg-apotc2024@c-linkage.co.jp) by October 18, 2024. Please use the subject line "Childcare Services Application"
4. Submit the original Application Form to the Childcare Services reception on the day of your application

Other services

• Nursing room
  Please ask the Registration desk if you would like to use the nursing room. A change mat and hot water supply are provided. When there are many users, kindly share with others.
• Rental for wheelchair
  Wheelchairs are available at the west entrance. Please ask for” Information” at the Sapporo Convention Center when using them. Please note that these chairs are for public use and may be loaned out or under maintenance.
• Nappy change
  There are nappy changing stations in the men's and women's toilets in front of the main hall and five multipurpose toilets. There are seven locations. Please take used nappies home with you.
• Vending machines
• Coin-operated lockers（Large: JPY 300, Small: JPY 200）
