Session Title: Synthetic Biology and Constructive Biology

Session Summary:Biological systems can be modified and harnessed for a variety of technological applications, including the synthesis of fine chemicals, the production of materials, and as potential therapies. In addition to modifying existing organisms, researchers are trying to build biological systems from their components. Both approaches are essential to understand the workings of biological systems. In this session, cutting edge research with engineered living cells and non-living cellular mimics will be presented.
